No baby shower?

Question

Is anyone else not having a shower?

I have opted to not have one for a myriad of reasons and while I'm at peace with the decision, UGH! I keep seeing other people's showers and feeling that pang of jealousy. I want the diaper cake and cute decorations and stupid games. :( I want the gifts that other moms would but knowing they would honestly help me.

When DH and I got married, we didn't have bachelor's/bachelorette's parties nor did I have a bridal shower all of which for reasons similar to not having a baby shower.

I'm not having one, but I did tell people I was registered.  We have no family where we live and it's so close to the holidays, I didn't want people to feel obligated.

I'm not having a shower either we just decided to buy the necessities and go from there. It's just costs so much more to have a baby shower I didn't see the sense in it no matter how hard I tried.

I had so many people offer to throw one for me but I just can't get around to wanting one, it'll make me feel bad and obligated to give back some how. We're having a little dinner and if people want to bring a gift they can but I'm not expecting anything. It's so close to the holidays that I don't want anyone stretching their money further for us.

We just got married two weeks ago and I am still exhausted and dealing with gifts and all of that stuff... my in laws would love to go to a baby shower but they kept saying "well let us know when it is" like I'm planning my own.  😑 Absolutely not.  I live 1100 miles from my family and they came down for the wedding so we won't be doing anything with them... and no close friends that would be willing to help plan or anything. I told my husband last night that I wasn't going to have one... and he said he was on it.  I'm not sure what that means, but I assume he is making plans lol.

I have no family but my mom and Maby like 3friends.. I wasn't going to have one either, I didn't have one for my daughter and it killed me. My friend from work is dead set on throwing me one after Christmas.. I said the Same thing! Its too close to the holidays and I have no one to invite. So she said January is still a good month even though I'm due at the end on February. Its a sad feeling missing out on a baby shower, especially when you can use the gift and it would be extra special.

I'm not either.  I had one for first born and it was just silly.  Always good to get friends together but I'm not up for it this time.  We are blessed to be having another boy and we will just be reusing everything

I had one with my first daughter who is 18 months old (plus my workplace threw me one) so I'm not having one with this baby (another girl). It was nice with the first one, but since this one is close in age and the same gender I decided not to. I'm not a big fan of being the center of attention. My first shower was pretty basic, more of a get together. No silly games or anything. I didn't have a bridal shower either. I had a Bachelorette party, but it was just a pure romance party followed by some bar hopping haha.

I'm not having one either. I had one with my first son who is now 16 months old. I'm having another boy & feel guilty if I have another one. I feel like people will think i'm greedy. I have kept everything from my 1st son so don't really need too much but at the same time, I feel like my second boy is getting the shaft b/c all of his stuff will be hand me downs & nothing new & of his own. I guess I'm a little torn, too.
