How long do you let your baby sleep at night?

How long do you let your baby sleep at night before waking him/her to eat? My LO is 4 weeks old and is gaining weight very well. Each night she is sleeping longer stretches. Tonight she went 5 hrs before I woke her and I felt guilty for letting her go that long without eating. When should I be waking her up? When can I start letting her sleep through the night?

Let her (and you!) sleep now. My LO slept 12 hrs one night when she was 4 weeks old. I woke up, before her, panicked and feeling guilty and even asked my pediatrician if it was okay. He said, as long as baby has gained birth weight back plus some, it's okay to let them sleep through night. I was sure it was just a one time thing, but my daughter has been sleeping all night since then! She's almost 6 months now.

My 4 week old just slept for almost 6 hours, woke up to eat and change, and has been back to sleep for another solid 4 hours and counting. First time he's ever slept this long. As long as they're gaining weight and having enough wet/dirty diapers, let em snooze. Could be a growth spurt, they sleep a lot through those.

Let them sleep!  I agree as long as they are gaining weight. Mine only sleeps 3 hours at a time lol.  Consider yourself lucky.

My boy is 3 months and I let him sleep as long as he likes. If he get super fussy while sleeping I get him up change him then feed him n it back to bed.

My son is 4 weeks old now, & he sometimes sleeps for 3 hours & sometimes he'll sleep for 4 or 4 1/2. Just depends on how hungry he is sometimes. But he definitely wakes up & let's me know he's hungry.

I would say don't wake her up! Get that sleep as long as she's gaining:) my LO has pretty much slept through the night besides one or two feedings since 3-4 weeks old.

If baby is gaining weight and healthy let her sleep! Never wake a sleeping baby unless absolutely necessary 👌🏻

Let your baby sleep! She'll wake up when she's hungry and sleep patterns will change too- so just try to go with it 
As long as she's gaining and your PED doesn't tell you to wake her then let her sleep- she'll make up for it during the day.
