MIL problems?

Tell me how your MIL rants I would love to her some if you have any problems with them wanting to be controlling or any other problems you may have.

Mine drives me crazy! She likes to show up at our house unannounced and texts constantly with the worst grammar and punctuation possible. And she's a hypochondriac, so I always get to hear about all of her diseases, usually while we're eating. 🙄 My husband and I are going to move into his grandparents old house soon, and my MIL has owned/kept watch over it since the grandpa passed away earlier this year. Well, she decided to install ADT, which would be fine, except she gets text alerts whenever we come and go at the house! My husband told her he's going to cancel the plan, but she's really resisting. She just loves being involved in everything. She does not need to know every time we leave and come home! She was a helicopter parent before it was even a thing.

Also, I'm a very healthy eater and a pescetarian. I'm super chill about it; I don't care if others around me like to eat meat and I don get all preachy about it. My MIL, on the other hand, only makes heavy, fried meat based meals. "Deep fried" is usually involved in the description of everything she makes. She makes a big deal of saying, "I don't know if I have anything to eat for YOU" or, if we go out, "do they have the sort of food you can eat here?" Woman, just calm down. Just because I don't want diabetes and heart disease doesn't mean I'm weird.

Mine is a nurse and so she thinks she knows literally everything about everything- which she doesn't AT ALL! She called and told me the other day that I have to sleep on my right side now for the entire pregnancy and never any other side because if I sleep any other way I will kill the baby 😑 Like you're not even kind of right!!! At all!!! She thinks we are just so ridiculous because we believe in natural pregnancy and childbirth, and attachment parenting, etc. We told her very firmly we are having a home birth and she knew better than to outwardly protest, but she has just been so obnoxious the entire time about it. Asked me the other day if she could meet my midwife and ask her some questions about her qualifications and if she has fetal monitoring equipment and blah blah blah- oh my gosh lady leave it alone!! No I am not going to let you harass and belittle my poor midwife! The worst/funniest thing so far: she gave me this breast pump when we first told her I was pregnant. She told me she got it from her nutritionist at work and four other women in the family have used it when they were breastfeeding...it's a single use pump!!! Like, cannot be sterilized even by replacing tubing!!!! She has been asking me constantly when she can go out to lunch with me and we can buy new tubing together 😩 so now I have to, once again, be the awful snobby daughter in law and tell her that I can't use the pump because it's a freaking bacteria playground at this point after FIVE FREAKING USERS...omg, I swear I dread talking to her anymore now that I'm pregnant!

When we first told her I was pregnant - she gave me a lecture on eating my vegetables. I'm 34 and an labor and delivery RN - I think I know about nutrition.

She also insists that labor is easy and I have no reason to be worried. My baby measures 3 weeks ahead. Already 6lbs at 33 weeks. She said she had a few "pains" and then he was born - and he weighed 10 lbs so what's my problem.

For our anniversary present she gave me his baby book and his coming home outfit - which is fine - but apparently I wasn't excited enough 🙄.

My SO and i split up for about two months a few years back. I decided to take my son and his sister's swimming at our local man-made lake and low and behold his mom is there with his kids and their cousins. My SO youngest daughter saw us and came running to say hi and oh my god you would think I had a bomb strapped to my chest. That woman came and snatched the little girl up so fast I thought she was gonna have whip lash. My SO and i have been back together a year and a half already and I just went around his family again a month ago. But I'm stubborn af.

Mine is a bit overbearing. She wants me to give her my son at 3 days old so he can stay at her house! She's also building him an ENTIRE nursery in her house because she's basically telling me he'll be staying over there a lot. She's also starting to buy strollers and things without consulting me to see if I even like them. She's too much for me 😂
