Why is my period late???

As
The day my period was due my cervix was high, the next day it was low so I figured my period was coming. That night I took a test, it was negative. This morning my cervix moved up high again. Tonight, still no period, high, met, closed cervix and confused... My husband and I always use the pull out method and it works great but at the end of my last period he did not pull out bc we figured I couldn't get pregnant on my period...
