LDR advice?

So I've been dating my boyfriend since June.. we started it long distance. I met him when I went for an exchange program in his country and hosted in the same school he goes to. We didn't really talk a lot until my last days in that place (though I can see the signs that he was interested in me way earlier in Feb but I was too dumb to waste my time on a playboy). Anyway I grew fond of him as I know more about him and such. We decided to do a long distance relationship. And yes, it's like real long distance, I'm somewhere in Asia and he is in America. Both of us know that it takes at least a year for us to see each other but we're willing to wait. Anyway, the thing is that now he didn't text me back for more than a month. He's the kind of guy who can just go off and does his own stuff. It has happened before like he didn't text me back for more than 2 weeks in July because he went hunting and he didn't tell me beforehand. And now he didn't text back for like a month and I have no idea how to reach him. (He's not on any social media platform)(and we're not the kind of couples who talk about our whereabouts) I'm not sure if he's ignoring me or just unable to reach me. I thought everything was good :/ I mean, everything was good before he varnished. He's doing college and waiting for the military stuff.(I have no idea how that works) is it possible that you can't have your phone while you get into the military? Geez. I don't even know if he's still alive. Duh it's so complicated... or am I getting ditched? :/
