tips/tricks for a quick L&D?

Does anyone have any tips that helped them along with labor and delivery? Anything that you did/took that you believe made your baby come faster? I'm not talking about things to induce. I'm mean something that made you dilate faster or not push as long. With my first I pushed for 2 hours. I don't want to do that again 🙈 thanks!

So an epidural can slow the labor and there are other pain medications you can take, but if you're set on an epidural that's completely your decision. In general the more natural you go the faster your labor so avoid being induced if it's something you have a choice in. Try to stay calm during labor and focused. I know, easy to say, but it really will help if you're not tensed up and fighting against what's happening. I was told if you rub primrose oil on your cervix it helps soften it. Heard the same about vitamin e and semen. Those are typically suggestions to help induce , but I imagine it would help speed the process if it works at all. Also, make sure you're doing kegels and staying somewhat active. Stronger more toned muscles will help you have more effective pushing. The really great news is that the second one usually goes faster anyway since your body has already been through it. Good luck!

My friend swears by her red raspberry leafs pills, she had 20 min of pushing and baby pretty much fell out

It's hard to say whether the raspberry leaf tea and evening primrose oil made a difference, but I started them about 35-36 weeks and only pushed maybe 5-10 minutes with all three of my kids.
