need some insight

Ok ladies. So I'm usually a very normal cycle. The normal 4-5 medium to heavy flow. This cycle I started heavy on day one (the 3rd of the month), day 2, not so much and day 3, period ended. Never had cramps or back ache like I usually do. On the night of the election, I started getting sharp pains in my left side, assuming it was my cyst, but the pain/cramps and aches have continued since then. It was like ovulation cramps since then on. I tracked my ovulation and my cervix didn't seem to change. Mucus was thicker then usual these past few days. But still have this dull achy cramp in my uterus... any thoughts on what's going on?
