It's totally normal it's dead tissue once it falls off the smell goes away his pediatrician told me to take a tip with running alcohol on it and gently swab around it to help with the smell

It's normal for it to smell. It is rotting flesh that's falling off. That's what my doctor told me because I freaked out too, then it fell off the next day and the smell went away.
