Pain meds or not

Sara

So I know so many women aren't sure on pain meds so I thought I'd share my story

So with my first I went from 5-9cm in less than an hour so I had no time for any sort of pain management

My second I was induced and decided I would be fine I can do this natural again

Now for this last one. I had an irritable uterus (really I had it with all but this was the worse) basically it's when the uterus contractions like labor contractions for hours (sometimes days) then they taper off. So I started having these about 30 weeks and every week got worse and worse finally set an induction date for 42 weeks. I tried EVERYTHING (except castor oil) nothing worked. Night before induction came I went to the hospital to have the pill placed (even though I knew I didn't need it) the nurse said come back in the morning and she'd see me then I told her well hopefully I come in sooner she said she's been known to check people then they go into labor. I went home went to sleep next to my 1 yr old. I woke up at about 3 am to pee I noticed the contractions not bad, I went pee felt a small gush. I was certain it was my bag breaking a little. So I called my mom down (whom I was temp staying with) by the time she got dressed they were 3 minutes apart. We had a 10 min drive by the time we got to the hospital it was 330 I was checked I was at 7 cm! I slept threw most of my labor. Now this time around I wanted the iv med. I asked the nurse about it saying please don't tell me it's too late her response was she didn't need to tell me I already knew. They quickly started getting the room together for me to push. By 415 I started pushing the midwife told me only a few pushes he'll be out I'm sure of it but wasn't coming after 6 pushes she asked if she could help stretch it and put lube on his head so it could slip out and then he started to move (I thought it was her moving) there was so much pressure all I could do is cry saying stop moving over and over again. Then I started pushing again but now it was 10x worse I started yelling at him to get the f out of me. I had a panic attack during a break between contractions I was told I didn't have to push if I didn't want to but then a contraction came and I had to push he finally came sunny side up at 444 am. When I started pushing it was laying in the right direction when he started moving he turned over. Thankfully I didn't tear but I still could barely walk. I definitely don't recommend having them sunny side up lol I wish we could control that.
