Telling your baby no..am i crazy?

So my 8 month old is EXTREMELY curious. He has his walker figured out and has found our living room and kitchen. That includes the cabinets, shelves...... everything! I have had to start the word no in calm tone of course and I know he is understanding what I say because the little booger smiles while he getting into this he shouldn't even when put away in a sealed container. He learned the game of drop the toy off the high chair and mommy watches him because he watches me first then drops it....he is a trip! Both of my boys will have in shape! Are you saying no yet?

I've been telling my daughter no for about a month now. She's into absolutely everything and such a handful! She knows what it means because she turns it into a game most of the time...for example she knows she's not allowed on my dog's smelly bed. She'll crawl to it and sit as close as she can to it and then turn around and look at me for approval...when I say NO or Nu uh sometimes she'll crawl away from it or crawl to me, but most of the time the second i say no she smiles and squeels and then scrambles onto the dog bed as fast as she can before i can get to her!

Yes. And explain why. I feel consistency is important, even from young age. My son already understands no, and so far listens.

We use the word "stop" more than "no" and my daughter seems to understand that it means shes doing something she should but she doesnt always listen.

He's already understanding know. I'll say no real stern to get his attention and tell him what he's doing wrong. Most of the time he looks at me and pouts other times he will look down with his lip out. Mama cannot be the bad guy!!!

I do use the word no but I try not to use it too much. He is starting to pick up a lot on what I'm saying so when I act concerned and tell him he can't do something bc he'll get hurt or something he gets that sometimes. I like to say no sir instead of flat out no. We did that in a daycare I worked at with the one year olds so they wouldn't say no to us as much and it worked with them pretty well.

girl i've been saying "no" since my daughter turned 6/7months old. she is an adventurous little child and likes to dive off couches, pull down lamps, eat leaves, climb on drawers, pull hair, take off her diaper, wrap cords around her neck, put her face right in front of the tv, it's just madness! lol. she definitely knows what the word "no" means at 9 months old.
