So, my boyfriend wants to give our son an allowance for doing his chores because his parents used to (my boyfriend is probably the laziest dirtiest person ever). I never got an allowance growing up, it was either "do your chores or you're grounded". I'm the clean one.

i keep the house nice and pick up his undies and socks from all over the floor 😑 I'd be lucky if he put a dirty plate in the sink lol!

Im not saying all people that received allowances are lazy, it's just from seeing how he is and how he grew up. So anyone else that has gotten allowances or not, what's your take on this? Maybe you can help me out with a better understanding if an allowance is beneficial or not.
