Menstrual cups?

Question

I've been thinking about buying and trying out a menstrual cup because they get quite a bit of hype, and they seem a lot more convenient to use rather than tampons/pads. I'm just not sure about spending the money and ending up not liking it. Can anyone give me some advice based on experience using them? Are they comfortable? Do they leak?

I've been using menstrual cups for a while now and honestly it's so much better than pads or tampons. I started with the disposable ones and then eventually invested in a reusable silicone one. At first you will feel it but you'll get used to it and once you do you won't even notice it throughout the day. For me the disposable ones did leak because I have a very heavy period but the reusable one is perfect.

Do it! I thought anout it for a long time but didnt do it. One day I decided to do it and I love it! Its life changing. Deff look up videos and stuff about it to learn how to insert and clean it. It is a bit of a learning process but dont give up on it. I took me like 5 cycles to  use it 100% correctly. Use a pad with it when your first starting out tho!

Do it, it'll change your life lol. I hate having a period but getting a menstrual cup (diva cup brand) has made it a lot less of a hassle. I tried using tampons but they were always really uncomfortable and I could never get used to them so I used pads and those were great except for how they're not.. 
As for the actual execution of using a cup, I'd say don't get one if you're not comfortable with your body. At some point when using it you're going to have to get up close and personal with your vagina and it's natural but it can be messy. Some pros to using it are it's better for the environment, it's efficient, there's no odor because the blood doesn't come in contact with oxygen until you take the cup out to clean it, no risk of TSS, you save money in the end, they're comfortable- when inserted properly you can't feel anything, etc. The trick to making sure it doesn't leak is to make sure it's unfolded all the way when you insert it and it's sealed properly. If it's not in far enough you'll be able to feel it and you'll need to take it out and reinsert it. It helped if you kinda "bear down" when putting it in and your muscles will pull it up into place when you relax. 
There are tons of different brands, sizes, shapes, prices, and colors and I would suggest reading reviews or watching videos on YouTube to see what you think would work the best for you. I went with the most basic one because I feel like it had to be the most popular for a reason lol and I'm pretty satisfied with it.  I hope this helped. 😬

I would try the thinx underware before the menstrual cup. I still have been using tampons though.
