flying with baby ?

Question

Anyone take any plane trips with their LO's? Advice or tips/trips? We are taking a 2.5hour plane ride Tuesday & this momma is nervous 😬 lol We are traveling with my dad, her grandpa & visiting LO's great grandma! Thanks for any help ☺️

Edit: thanks for all the tips & tricks! We survived 😂 my LO did amazing! Just cried for about 10min on & off during descent & she refused the paci, boob, & finger to suck for help with the pressure but we eventually got it worked out!

We just got off a plane actually, and ending up taking 4 flights due to layovers. Our lo is almost 5 months, and did great.  She did have her fussy moments though, when I think the pressure was getting to her. We just made sure to have a bottle made and pacifier ready, so her ears would pop, and made sure to have a clean diaper before getting on the plane. After reading people's tips about flying with a baby, we chose not to check the travel system with the baggage, but checked it at the gate, which was awesome! If you can, I would highly recommend this. It was such a great help, having to run through the Airport, and also having the extra storage underneath the stroller. We took our baby carrier, but didn't actually use it at all the entire trip. I was honestly dreading the whole thing a bit because the thought of flying with a baby is intimidating, but it actually went really well. Good luck!

Oh boy. Just did this a few weeks ago with my 16 weeker. Do whatever you can to get them to sleep. Nurse on takeoff and descent to help with ear pressure. PRAY that you can get out of your seat is LO becomes fussy. We couldn't and he just needed to be bounced to calm down. It was so hard. BUT! The best thing we did was download a very colorful video to distract him with for the flight home, and that allowed me to calm him enough to sleep. I should note that my flights were later than his usual bedtime, so I was really asking for it. 🙃

We went on a 3 hour plane trip when our son was the months... Either check your car seat at the desk, of you do this wrap it in Bubble wrap when you get to the airport. Or gate check it with your stroller. We did the later BC we decided to take an umbrella stroller on the trip and the car start didn't clip into it. I wore my baby in a carrier through the airport, they don't make you take the baby out at security if you wear them. I was also able to nurse him in the carrier throughout the airport. Once on the plane I nursed at take off and decent and he was fine. I brought a backpack for our diaper bag, packed one of everything I needed and a change of shirt for myself.  On the way there were put the trays down and laid him across and he had a blast, on the way back he napped. Also, bring a copy of your baby birth certificate, we flew southwest and were asked for it on both flights. At this age be sure to pack a free of baby's favorite toys to keep them entertained. You'll be fine, have fun!

We've done a 1 hour flight and recently a 6 hour flight. Like a lot of the mamas said, nurse at takeoff and landing. Check your stroller/car seat at the gate. Bring a few beloved toys and one new toy the baby has never seen. You don't have to bring a physical copy of the birth cert., a photo on your phone will suffice.

I was dreading the long flight so much I almost gave myself a panic attack! In the end it was totally manageable and I feel empowered having done it all on my own :). You've got this!

We're going to AK in 24 days to spend Christmas/New years with my sister my baby will turn 5 months by then will see😁 
Last year we flew with my son he was 8 month old it was a disaster he yelled the whole way there and back it's a 3 1/2 hr flight!!

We are also going to travel with our 4month baby girl to spend X-mas at home with my family. We are going from Macau-Hong Kong-Paris-Lisbon. It's around 18 hours travelling. 😩 And my baby has been restless these days... I don't know what to expect... I am getting really nervous.

We took a plane trip last week and I kept my daughter in my boba wrap for the majority of the trip! She slept through take off and landing with a pacifier to help with ear pressure.

I took my 4 month old on a trip back home to Hawaii from SF. It's about a 4.5-5 HR plane ride. We did have an early flight so she was half awake when I got her up to leave. I made sure her diapers were nice and clean before take off, gave her a bottle during takeoff, and she was out! I put her in my Ergo and we both slept for about 3.5 hrs of the flight! When she finally started to wake up, I changed her and nursed her a bit. She stayed up the rest of the flight but was fine. Bottle again, at landing. 
I recommend zipper pjs Bc they are just easiest to change diapers for the plane. Buttons are too much work in a squishy plane. Also ask if they have changing tables. Most planes have them now, but it's good to know ahead of time. Def nurse or bottle feed for take off and landing. A pacifier will do also. Good luck! Have tons of fun!
