Water birth?

I'm curious to know how many mama's have had water births, or are planning to/have been thinking about it, and if it's an option for deliveries at most hospitals?? Want some more info!!

In the U.K. we are very lucky that our healthcare system actually encourages unmedicated births if you are considered to have a normal low risk pregnancy. There are 2 hospitals in our catchment area but I have chosen the one that is a 45 minute drive away as it has a midwife led birthing centre attached to the hospital, every single room has a pull down double bed, relaxing changeable colour lighting, direct access to a sensory garden, massive birthing pool, music facilities, birthing ball and en-suite shower room. If you and baby are okay after delivery you get discharged within 4 hours to go home and no need to spend time on a ward with lots of other women with no privacy. So yes I'm opting for a waterbirth and I cannot wait, I've heard so many positive birth stories from this very place. Good luck! X

They actually stopped doing water births at hospitals here in California.
I was interested so I had asked my first OB and that's what she had told me😔

I am havin a water birth at home with a private midwife ! If your pregnancy is smooth and without any complications I don't think you need to be in a hospital

I'm planning on one. Here in Florida they don't allow water BIRTHS in hospitals . just water labor. But I'm moving to Indiana and they allow it so I'm super stoked about that. Depends on your state and it's regulations.

I so wish I could've!!! Where I live Medicaid doesn't cover water births ☹️ But I utilized the bath tub until the very last minute and what a savior it was!!! 🙌🏻 Unmedicated birth but still tore in 6 places with both of my children. Lol

I did with my 5 year old and would love to again with this baby. The unit only has one pool though so it depends if it's busy or not. With 5yo I was the only one in so automatically put in the birth pool room.

I am planning on having one (I hope) midwives at my hospital I am birthing at recommended it more then any other birth. It's really good for somewhat pain management and I know that water calms me. It's good for the pelvis as well, because of the motion that water gives you.

I wanted a water birth with my first born but it didn't happen due to being induced lol but I won't get into that. With my current pregnancy I want to do that but the location I live in doesn't offer it I would have to drive about a hour and 15 minutes depending on traffic to a different hospital

I'm planning on having a water birth, apparently it takes some of the pressure away! I believe you can have a water birth at most hospitals...
