I don't know how to get over it :/

Ladies, I need your advice. My boyfriend and I have been together for 6 years. I love him a lot and I know he cares but .. I was admitted into the hospital for something serious last week and I ended up having to stay for 5 days. The first day I was admitted, I called and told him and he said he'd try to stop by on his way home from his friends house later on. He never stopped by, and if you ask me, he should of left his friends house once he found out I was in the hospital. I was pretty upset and told him that I couldn't believe he was choosing to hang out instead of actually be there with me. Long story short, he didn't visit me not one of the 5 days I was in the hospital. He actually didn't even reach out to me until 2 days after I was admitted. We talked it out afterwards, and I just can't help but still be upset about it. I don't want to be.. I want to believe and feel like he'd be the first one there for me if anything were to happen but I feel like he just showed me otherwise. And I really could use some advice in how to move forward in a positive way.
