Size of baby?!?!?

When did your doctor start measuring to see how big baby is?

How did they do it??

FTM and 25 weeks so this hasn't happened yet for me and just curious if it will soon or maybe Doctor won't do it for me???

Usually they start at 12 weeks my doctor said. But for me they started after my first ultrasound at 7 weeks so she measured my belly at around 9-10 weeks till now the new lady that replaced her is doing it and I'm at almost 27 weeks. I honestly love the way my regular doctor checked me she was gentle measured with hand first and then with a measuring string. The new lady does it with a measuring string but rough and for sure my belly daughter hates her, she starts kicking to leave her alone cause she puts to much pressure.. But i believe you should tell your doctor to measure you, they measure to check where your uterus and baby may be at and if everything is normal. Or request it... i honestly hate when the new lady does not tell me how my daughter is doing recently so I'm planning to go to the clinic my doctor left to. Hopefully they start measuring you soon.

Yeah, I'm 33 weeks and 5 days and have no idea how much my baby weighs or etc, I know im measuring like only 4 days ahead but nothing too over or under neccersary for a growth scan, never needed one. But im sure when I go get 3d 4d pics of my son on the 5th. They'll be able to see how much he weighs then. But either way im happy, as long as me and baby are healthy and doing great, thats all that matters! :)

Where I am they measure fundal height starting 28 weeks but only do ultrasound to measure baby if anything seems off. In all cases those are only estimates and not necessarily accurate. They're useful for comparison (one time your're measuring really small and the following visit, you catch up, might mean nothing. Continued small measurements might indicate something).

Do you mean what the baby weighs? Because they measure the baby at each ultrasound from the beginning.

I'm 27 weeks and my doctor has measured my belly, but not the baby. I had to go to an outside ultrasound place to get my baby's measurements. My doctor has always measured me 4 weeks ahead, but the ultrasound tech measured the baby right on track.

Usually when they start measuring your tummy they can request a growth scan if your uterus to your vagina bone measurement is under or over. I don't even know how big my baby is and I'm 37 weeks!

At my 20 week scan I had to ask them if they could tell how heavy the baby was and was surprised to find out he was weighing 13 ounces, which put him technically at 21.5 weeks, but they didn't change my due date 🤔
