WHAT WERE YOU DOING?

Question

I am a part of a local FB group for mom's who like to DIY projects and sell/swap/trade their creations.

But my biggest pet peeve is the people who don't understand what the group is for and post things like (yes, this has happened more than once. Countless times actually.) as follows:

"I just had a baby boy and I don't have ANYTHING for him (oops! Hehe) I need a crib, clothes, bottles, diapers, burp rags, and maybe some toys, etc. He's been sleeping in his car seat for a couple weeks. But I need to get this stuff."

I know for a fact that these women knew they were pregnant. (I know two ladies who had no idea, and that is a completely different story.) BUT these ladies have been arrested MULTIPLE times throughout their pregnancies, are known party girls (nothing wrong with that, everyone can party.) but are also bailing their boyfriends out of jail multiple times a month, and even have bought expensive tattoos, TV's, gaming systems instead of preparing for baby. Don't feed me some bull about them "needing to work pay bills" when they're buying big ass tv's and tattoos for their boyfriends or their 5th fiancé this year...

WHAT WERE YOU DOING FOR NINE MONTHS? There are women who have lost multiple babies, buy and prepare and have to take all of that down and these women don't even do any of that? Don't even think to get any of the BASIC THINGS NECESSARY FOR A CHILD TO HAVE? You can't tell me that your live in boyfriend has no job and you work part time at a grocery store and you didn't think to go to the WIC office for the sake of your child? You do not even have food for your child. This kills me. Absolutely hurts my heart.

But these are the people who have oodles of kids.

This rant is not like me at all. But I've had it. Maybe it's because I'm hormonal.

Haha I literally thought we might of worked together her for a minute. You are describing a girl I work with perfectly. She has 3 kids with 3 different dudes one of which killed him self because she was cheating on him with baby daddy #3. She constantly goes out and never takes care of her children. She makes excuses that she's working all day (she's never once closed or opened) and drops her kids with grandparents. She's had DCF called on her multiple times by her own family. Don't let me forget that she lives with a raging pill head who is her "bestie". Oh but don't let me forget this girl claims to be mom of the year. I find her pathetic and disgusting. She likes to talk shit about other girls I work with who happen to be good mothers unlike herself. I cannot stand people like her!!

Ugh I see this all the time. Or the ones that ask for formula because the baby is out and you don't get your wic for a week. Like you just realized that you didn't have enough to get through. The sad part is that wic will give you what you need if you run out but most of these people want either cash so they can go get it or want you to bring it to them. I hate to see the baby's hungry but when presented with a soulution these women don't want to listen.

Woohoo! We were trc for 7 months this time (it only took 1 cycle with each of my first two) and my hubbys first child was from a very brief "fling" and he didnt know abt his son until he was 2. So we were not expecting it to take "so long" i know not that long for alot of couples, but for us felt like forever. But we have been dealing woth my "SIL" if you can even really call her family who has lied abt being pregnant at least 5 previous times. Who told us all over the summer her due daye was in November and all this garbage. Well here it is December and she has no baby and says "i lied abt my due date cuz i didnt want yall to know, but its really due December 24..." ummm ok...whatever so we shall see but the whole family has already decided that if she isnt (which we are pretty confident that she is not) we are all done with her. She has even told her mother that her family wont help her so she is done with us all and she is gonna "give her baby away" it is so ridiculous and i feel so bad for my hubby but he is just over it. We are due July 30th so we don't have time for games. Also on a side note we started buying baby neutral items (bassinet, breast pump) while trc to reduce the expenses all at once.
