Should i be taking xrays while pregnant for work?

I'm a dental assistant and I want to be useful to my team. 70% of my job is taking xrays on peoples teeth. My doctor said as long as I'm protected I'm fine but its more of a personal choice. Some girls at my job when pregnant refused to take xrays entire pregnancy but staff talked so much shit about her not being able to contribute. While others took xrays while pregnant. I do wear apron and stand behind wall but what if its not as effective as they say what would you do ?

I'm a certified xray technician and you can double up on the lead apron and as long as you're behind the wall your baby will be ok. i assume you wear a dosimeter since you take xrays?(not sure if it is required in a dental setting or not) Just make sure you turn it in on a regular basis so they can monitor your exposure but I think you will be just fine. If you are still nervous maybe rake turns doing the xrays so you aren't doing as many as before, but like I said you should be perfectly safe with all the precautions you take.

I think that its part of your job and you already got it ok by your doctor so you should do your part. It would be different if your doctor had cautioned you against it

Don't base your opinion off catty women in the office. Do what you think is best for you and your baby and that's it. It's not your job to please others, it's your job to keep baby as healthy as you can.
