nexplanon and period

I started nexplanon at the end of October and I started my period on November 26 and I'm still on it. But it hasn't been a normal period, it's been like just spotting when I go to the bathroom and I've noticed it on the liner a little bit. Is this normal, and how long will this go on for it's annoying me and I want to have sex with my boyfriend with out worrying about my period.
