7days or a whole pack?

I heard that you shouldn't have unprotected  sex up to the first 7 days of taking the pill or you could get pregnant but my friend swears up and down that it's a whole pack of pills.. does anyone know the correct answer, or have you ever got pregnant on the pill?

Where are people getting this whole 1 month idea..? It says directly in the pamphlet it takes 7-14 days (depending on the pill) to become effective against pregnancy unless you took it the first day of your period. 
I waited a month only to get used to the pill and the idea that I would be using it as my main birth control method. 
It's incorrect that if you wait a month the better it is protection-wise because it doesn't take that long for the hormones to work.
I suggest reading your pamphlet instead of asking which way is the right way, because the pamphlet is the only correct source regarding your pill.

I asked my doctor when I was talking to him about getting on the pill and he told me "Honestly I recommend you use another form of birth control like a condom for at least another 3 weeks. Some people get lucky and don't end up getting pregnant if they don't use it, but that is the safest idea."

I've spoken to numerous doctors and they all say wait at least a whole pack if not two. BUT: there always is a chance you could get pregnant, no matter what you do.

The way the pill works is that it needs to build up in your system so please at THE least hold off for 1 month (or an entire 
Packet) the longer you wait the better 😊

My gyno said a whole pack IF you didn't start taking it the Sunday after the last day of your period. In that case they say to wait 7 days. However I was stupid drunk and had unprotected sex 5 days into starting my birth control and I had my period 3 weeks later. Probs just depends on your body. Just be careful and don't be an idiot like me.

The pill isn't 100% effective. I'm a product of failed birth control lol. Even when you're on the pill, you sure always have protected sex. Accidents do happen.
