How to get over a guy?

For the last year I've had a crush/liked this boy (let's call him Matt). Well I finally worked up the courage to tell Matt last Saturday and he swiftly explained that he just saw me as a friend and that he hoped I would understand. He's a really nice guy and I could tell he really didn't want to hurt my feelings so I decided to wait until I got home to cry my eyes out. Now our friendship's a little strained but I still want our friendship so how do I get over my feelings and get on with it?
