red "cheesy" neck?

Question

Anyone deal with their baby having a red neck similar to a rash with stuff there that smells? No matter how much I clean it, it seems to keep coming back.

I use rash cream under his neck and armpits when it starts getting red. And I wipe his neck during diaper changes,  it seems to solve it for me 😊

Since day 1 I've put coconut oil all over my little guy head to toe once a day, and never have had any issues with irritation, rashes, baby acne, or dry skin. It provides a barrier and can combat yeast.

My baby gets that sometimes but I think it's milk that dripps down and he's so damn chubby it's hard to get!

I use the Mustela Cleansing water on a washcloth and wipe her neck off in the morning. It really helps and it smells pretty good. I also wipe her down with it if she didn't get a bath the night before. It's like a waterless bath. 😊

Stank neck as we call it. Get some Aquaphor (Equate version is just as good).

Yes!! That cheesy smell! Lol! I've been doing extra scrubbing during bath at nights then mornings when I just use a wash cloth to wipe her down. That's helped a ton!!

I brought it up to her dr at the 2 month check up. I clean it various times during the day but it was always red and without fail would smell a couple hours later. Anyways her dr recommended a little bit of cornstarch dabbed on there and it's worked wonders!

I use diaper rash cream  (aquaphor, though it really doesn't matter ) on my babys neck. I  figured it was basically the same as getting diaper rash on their butts, so I tried it and its been working. You do need to clean and dry that neck area very well though several times a day. It's all that spit up that drains down their necks as well as milk during a feed. Next thing you know you're growing Cheese, LOL

Use diaper rash cream, also we use a bib/burp cloth EVERY feeding. I really get the cloth in the neck. We have been able to avoid the cheese neck this time around, we weren't so lucky with our first lol
