Birth Control after Baby?

I finally had my postpartum appointment today (was pushed back because of my hospitalization and gallbladder surgery) and my LO will be 11 weeks on Monday. Anyway, my doc gave me a script for the mini pill since I'm EBF. 
My hubby and I haven't started to be intimate again (unfortunately). Just curious what side effects the mini pill causes. I haven't taken a pill in 4 years. Thanks!

When I first started taking it I got acne for about a week or two. Other than that I haven't had any issues with it :)

I was on the mini pill for 2 years after having my first son. I didn't have any bad side effects. I had acne occasionally, but that's about it. I just couldn't deal with taking a pill everyday. The only reason I switched birth control.

It varies from woman to woman, I believe spotting is the most common especially if you don't take it at the exact same time every day. Many women don't have a period while on the mini pill. Also be aware the failure rate is higher if you don't take it exactly as prescribed, the combination pill is a lot more forgiving if you take it late or miss a pill. So if you're not good about remembering to take it this is not a good pill and a good idea to use a backup method.
