sleeping on my back?

When is it not ok to sleep on my back? This is literally the only position I'm comfortable in right now.

I still sleep on my back and I'm almost 33 weeks. My doctor said it's fine and if my body is baby was not getting energy it would automatically wake me up. Baby and I are still going strong 😊

I don't think it is as serious as people may make out. I sleep on my side just because the pressure of the baby can make me feel dizzy after a while you see!
I do sleep and wakeup sometimes on my back and I think nothing of it I just turn on my side,wedge my thin pillow under my bump and sleep again.

I do suffer with back pain with this pregnancy though

When ever you start to feel uncomfortable, your body will tell you. I'm 39 weeks and still sleep on my back sometimes, I go back in my side if the baby is pressing on something making it hard to breath.

I still find myself on my back, sometimes it's the only comfy position since I can no longer sleep on my tummy without feeling like I'm laying on a ball.

Dr told me that the chances of miscarrying from sleeping on your back are slim (if you look online  they say it's a concern because you are cutting off the blood supply) he said you'll wake up because it's harder to breathe as baby gets bigger and you'll feel dizzy of sluggish... so if I rolled onto my back don't worry about it (I'm a die hard back sleeper.. cannot wait to get back on my back..) he did say though that although not a huge risk there is risks of blood clots forming  in your leg and that because you're pregnant it's problematic as you cannot take blood thinners so you'd have to have a pic line put into your leg. As i said he said the risk of this is still low but wouldn't recommend it just because if it were to happen it would fing suck.. as I got bigger I couldn't breathe properly anyhow so I hardly even wake up on my back anymore...but I get hardly any sleep cause I hate side sleeping..lol..

It's fine! I was told as long as your actually getting sleep that's what counts! Lol

My midwife said it was fine if I was comfortable and to just do what my body was telling me in terms of positioning. I slept on my back a lot

I've been wondering the same thing... 🤔 I'm 22weeks +5 & find I always end up on my back even if I try sleeping on my side, w/ pillows behind me.
