86th percentile?! 😳

I got another ultrasound yesterday to finish the anatomy scan. I got the first one at 21 weeks but she wasn't cooperating so I had to come back for them to finishe it. The dr told me our baby is measuring at 3lbs and 1oz and is in the 86th percentile. I have friends farther along than me and my baby is bigger than theirs. Does this mean she's going to be MASSIVE???

As you progress your doctor might want to do another ultrasound to check on size. Because of a medication I'm on my doctor is doing an extra ultrasound at 33 weeks to check size and make sure my son isn't getting too big

Probably not. Babies have growth spurts. I didn't get percentiles, but at my 20 week scan my boy was measuring exactly where he was supposed to be. I was actually only 19+4 and everything but his legs measured that, and his legs were 19+5.

Not necessarily. Anything between 10% and 90% is considered normal and sometimes the growth will slow and the percentile will drop as you get further along.

My baby boy is measuring 96% at 23wks 3days hes weighing in at 2lbs. Measuring out at 26wks5days. My high risk dr said they are gonna start monitoring me for gestational diabetes 😕.

Our baby was measuring in the 82% at our 20 week scan. He's still measuring a bit big, but not that big. Sometimes they have growth spurts and then level out. It's possible your due date could be earlier than what you think which would put him in a more average percentile.

My boy's head was measuring above the 91st percentile at 21 weeks, lol makes me a little nervous when I think about laboring naturally. I've heard of a lot of people getting told they were going to have big babies, but once they were actually born they weren't as big as projected.

A lot of times the baby comes and weighs a lot less than expected. Mine was supposed to be in the high 8's and came out 7lbs 3 oz
