Clomid after spotting

Has anyone taken their Clomid after spotting and then their period shows up? Glow just keeps moving the projected period. Today would be cd5 from when I had bright red spotting. Should I record it as a period and take the Clomid, or wait and see if AF shows? Took a hpt, it was negative.
