Your thoughts needed

Ok ladies, so this guy I have been talking to (and had sex with) that I like has recently told me he isn't looking for anything intimate. Is it weird that my reaction and response was relief and excitement that we aren't going to be in a relationship? Like I feel like I shouldn't be excited about a guy I like not wanting intimacy or a relationship.
