Am I the asshole? Or them?

I live with my in laws. My baby is almost 3 weeks old. And lately I've been up with the baby at night. My in laws will  have family over in the morning and they want to see the baby , but we've been up all night so we're trying to sleep. Personally if I'm going to see someone's baby I would contact the mother and say "hey I know you are a new mother, and you rarely get sleep , how are you feeling today? Are you up for visitors ?" Oppose to just showing up that just so happened to be after I was up until 7 am with my baby girl and we are both tired and trying to sleep while everyone is down stairs being loud as hell. And you would think my in laws would have the decency to ask me if I'm up for visitors also. It's just rude in my eyes . There is new born baby in this house now. They just don't get it !!!! I feel anyone would be annoyed as a new mother . What do you think?
