my parents dont like the boy im talking to

so im a cheerleader at my school and we practice at an all star gym where i met this boy who does all star cheer about a year ago. about 3 weeks ago we started flirting and talking talking even though we've known each other for a year. hes the sweetest boy ive ever met and even my ex that im friends with told me that this guy would never ever ever hurt anybody or pressure me. hes been friends with this guy for a while too and he told me that the only thing this guy could do wrong is love somebody too much. i told my mom about the guy a couple days ago and she immediately disapproved and said my dad would too. idk what to do bc my parents dont want us to be anything more than friends but we really like each other. they wont even give him a chance. what do i do?
