How do u feel/react when u see a veiled woman?

I am not trying to start a new discrimination post or anything, but I've read some posts here and on Facebook about the reaction of people when they see a veiled woman in the street. I am only asking because the majority of the ladies here are from the regions of USA /Europe and Australia where it's not really common to see veiled women.

I'm trying to understand the point and maybe help Muslim girls feel better about going out in public wearing their hijab. As I noticed that some veiled women are often scared to walk around in public as someone might say a negative comment on the matter while in fact it's just a piece of clothing. Like my bestfriend's mother who lives in Brussels and when the kids in her area see her outside they throw rocks and water on her. It's sad really.
