Sorry if my question is completely dumb... but my son is 1 year old and had absolutely no fear of strangers. He will flirt with all the ladies and smile and laugh at every guy out there. This weekend we were out eating dinner and I took him out of his seat so he could stand up and take a few steps. When the waitress came he immediately walked the few steps up to her and charming as he is she started talking and playing with him and she asked me if she could pick him up because he clearly wanted to be picked up so she did and my son was having a great time.

Now I'm wondering if this is normal? My friend's son for example would never stay with someone other than his mom or dad. Does this whole clingy phase start later or does it not start for some babies at all?
