water birth?

After antenatal classes I have been thinking about water birth. Partner thinks it's a great idea. I was wondering can you wear a top or something in the water? Vest? Nightie? I don't want to be completely naked. I know I have been told a lot when I'm at that stage I won't care what I'm wearing but for now I just want to wear something or even think I will be wearing something. I ain't the most confident person so it's playing on my mind.

As long as everything goes according to plan (does it ever though?) we will be having a home water birth. I have been thinking about this lately as well and think I'll probably wear a sports bra or something.

Have you checked with your birthing center or hospital? I want a water birth and I have to have my baby at home because the hospital only has one tub and when I was birthing my daughter someone was already in it. I had to settle for a bed birth on my back like I didn't want to do... other hospitals only let you labor on the water, not birth. I have switched to a midwife and will birth at home so I get the experience I want. Just check around and don't get too caught up on a specific birth plan.. it literally depends on the policies and availability where your at. Good luck!!

My cousin wore a t-shirt.. I plan to buy a tankini top dont want to be completely naked.. Whatever makes you feel comfortable at the end of the day.
