Preparation help??

Question

I'm at 10 weeks and a first time mother, what should I start doing now to prepare??? Anything I need to be stocking up on? Or buy now to have for later??

Start your registry and start researching items! As I researched items I liked I added them to my registry so I wouldn't forget. I also signed up for any and every free sample I could find - all the formula brands, diaper brands, diaper cream brands, baby toiletry brands etc. Also create registries with several places so you get all their free samples and welcome boxes/bags but when the time comes only give your guests one or two of the registers not all them. You can start buying essentials that are on sale too like diapers, wipes, toiletries, socks, neutral onesies but only buy them if they are a great deal. I also did diaper research to create a spreadsheet of estimated diaper/wipe usage and the regular prices on Amazon/Walmart per diaper and wipe. This gave me a good outline of when to buy on sale, always go based of the cost per diaper or wipe not per box. Hope this helps :)

We bought a pack of baby wipes every time we went shopping whilst pregnant. Then occasionally a bag of nappies and some sterilising wipes, some toilet wipes (for post partum) and nappy bags. It was all purchased one or two bits at a time so we didn't notice the expense and now we're 10weeks in and haven't even made a dent in our stash so we have the odd few pounds to treat ourselves to coffee when we need to get out x

Work on collecting items to complete a layette set in your first trimester.  And start organizing your online gift registry.  It will give you an outlet for your pregnant energy and keep you busy for awhile.  Second trimester, collect diapers and random "too cute to pass up" items.  Leave everything else for the baby shower (if you're having one), otherwise put the nursery together about 7-8 months.  Traditionally.

I think you've got plenty of time to decide what to buy. Your opinion might change about how to diaper your baby (cloth vs. disposable/biodegradable). New products might come out closer to your due date that you'll like more.
You could also eventually be gifted a bunch of baby supplies.

Do a lot of research on things you will use everyday that are expensive like strollers, car seats, high chairs, and make sure to get recommendations!

Are you having a baby shower?

The first trimester I would buy the items you'll need . Such as nursing or PP items. You 'll need these regardless of gender and their not typically items people purchase for you.
You could also buy those bigger items like nursery furniture and etc. unless you think your family or friends are wanting to get you higher prices items.

Buy diapers a few newborn and size 1 but a lot of size 2, that's where they will spend a majority of their time in. Big boxes of wipes too. This is going to sound silly but I would suggest (once you know the gender) buying pants/shorts. I was given 1000 onesies and maybe a couple of complete outfits but not pants or anything. You can never have too many burp cloths either☺

You can never have too many diapers. My son is almost 4 months old and it's been nice to not have to buy diapers yet. Sadly we are on our last box so we will have to buy them soon. Lol.
