IUD Insertion
So I finally got the balls to get my IUD inserted. I went with the Mirena, and as a woman who has never had kids I knew it would hurt. Let me give you a pain scale.
So the worst thing I've ever felt with is probably an infected rat bite or a bite from a parrot (400lbs of pressure per square inch). That's a 10. 1 is normal. I'm not a pass out kind of girl, I'm a scream profanities at the doctor while profusely apologizing kind of girl. I've been run over by horses, bitten by snakes, you name it with an animal and it's probably happened.
So the worst part was definitely opening my cervix. I may have dropped the f bomb a few times, like 50. That sh*t hurt. But not near as bad as a bite that cause nerve damage in my index finger or that left a whole in my arm. I give it a 7. It hurt, and I was not being nice, but not crying, and not passing out. Mind you, having a large macaw try to piece my hand almost made me pass out, but ten minutes later I was up and around again. I didn't take a friend with me, almost wish I would have. Now I'm stopping to get cupakes, then going home for a bubble bath. I'm bleeding & cramping, but not as bad as my period usually makes me. On my period I take 800mgs of ibuprofen the first 3 days and can still feel the pain. I'm on 600 right now and can feel it, but it's not too awful. It's also not as terrible as I though it was going to be. Now trying to decide what kind of cupcake I want.
For those who want it, take a Valium or something stronger than ibuprofen, a friend, and make them drive so you can sleep it off. Then make them get you cupcakes and take a bubble bath, once the Valium wears off.
