badly cramping?

I've have had my skyla (3-yr iud) in for about 9 months now, in the beginning I had spotting everyday. I then had an ultrasound to make sure the iud was in place to make sure the bleeding wasn't a complication and it was fine. Once my body got used to it the every day spotting has now stopped but I am experiencing SEVERE cramping almost every day even when I do not have my period. Has anyone else experienced this???
