my ex won't text me back

I broke up with my ex Tuesday for several reasons. He told me he wasn't ready for a relationship or the title after being together for several months. I found that pretty unacceptable so after leaving his house I told him I'll stop by later in the week to get my things. He texted me back saying he didn't want this to be our outcome but after I explained to him I want to be with someone who wants to be with me he never texted me back. It's been two days and I don't want to text him again. Any ideas about what I should do or why he isn't responding?
