babywise or baby whisperer moms?

Hey! So I am loosely sticking to babywise. Kind of a 3 hour feed wake sleep routine without waking him if he's asleep. Any of you babywise moms have any advice for getting them to sleep for naps? He never naps independently even though we do a routine, swaddle and lay him down. He always cries and cries until he's picked up. Sometimes we pick him up n lay him down for hours. Should I stop that? Just let him cry a while? He's 14 weeks old today. I've even let him nurse to sleep recently bc it's just been such a battle. Want to cut that out asap but need some encouragement on what has been working for you ladies!
