What can I do

My dog was hit by a truck Tuesday and has bad bruises on his little legs. Well on one he has like little cuts where it was bleeding. I'm wondering if I can or should put anything on it to help him heal? The vet only sent him home with antibiotics and pain meds. He can walk some but mostly sleeps. I know he'll heal on his own but could I put coconut oil on his sores?
