Dear Daddy,

I'm not with you yet

But I wanted you to know,

How much I care and

Can't wait to be there.

I love it when I hear your voice whispering to me outside of Mommys tummy,

Telling me that you love me and to treat mommy nice, (not a chance, Mommy!)

Your wishes for me are definitely heard by my little ears,

I also hear how much you love me and will for all my years!

These five months have been so fun

Growing big and strong.

You know and I know the next four will zoom right along.

I love it when you pat mommies belly and I feel a little jolt.

You are teaching me how to love my partner and child one day.

You are going to be my role model, Mommy says I couldn't have a better one!

I love it when you rub mommies belly with your hand

To try and feel me move.

(Sorry I duck away sometimes and be a stinker,

I take after you!)

I love it when you give Mommy a hug because I am right in the middle

And feel the warmth of your love too,

Just a little longer till I can get your hugs all by myself!

But while I wait, I really wonder what you're all about.

Do I have your eyes? Your nose? Your laugh?

I'll have your love, there's no doubt!

I am going to love when we play games together!

Will we go to the park and play ball?

Or will you be dressing me to go to the dance hall?

Will you show me how to race some cars?

Or help me draw a shooting star?

I know that when I start playing on sports teams or singing or whatever talent you have gifted me,

My daddy will be in the crowd cheering me on.

I know that you and Mommy will by my #1 fans!

Your hands will teach me how to throw a football or play volleyball,

They will be the same hands will pat my back in a hug on my wedding day,

wishing my luck, wondering how I grew up so fast.

Just think about when you'll teach me letters and things I need to know!

When I say my first word,

How your heart will light up and glow!

I will be the first step to complete our family.

There are more to come and trust me they are great.

I was just too excited to wait.

I am going to love it when I finally get to feel the warmth of your arms,

Holding me for the first time after I am born

Because I hear Mommy tell you how it's the best place to be.
