FTM discipline question

I feel like I'm well prepared with researching baby gear and baby clothes and classes about delivery and breast feeding are scheduled, but I haven't researched much about discipline/raising this kiddo. I just received a book I asked for "the Christian Mama's guide to pregnancy" and it has a little bit about discipline. Some of my friends also use "conscious discipline" which I've heard about Bc I'm a teacher and it's a method frequently used in schools. How are the other FTMs preparing for this?
