First I'm never going to stoop so low as to be the other person, especially not to with someone dating my sibling or friend. What kind of person sleeps with a family member's SO?? I still wouldn't even sleep with them after they break up because that'd be disrespectful and just a messy situation waiting to happen.

Once a man is on the market there shouldn't be rules about who he can be with. I can understand the family member thing a little bit, especially if they've had sex etc, but if it's a friends ex it shouldn't matter. I am married to my ex best friends ex. Yeah she isn't friends with me no longer, partially cause of that and partially cause she sided with my ex when I left him. But that was her choice. I knew pretty quick from being friends with my husband first that he was the love of my life and I wasn't going to be able to walk away from that. A friend is a friend but a husband gives you everything, including friendship. I guess it's just best to try to be civil about it and make sure you know he's the one cause once you cross that line the friend may not be ok with it.

I put 'I have' solely because after my best friend and their boyfriend broke up, he started to move on to me and I wasn't sure about it at all.....

My friend and I both liked the guy at the same time, she was just the one to end up with him first.

:-/ It was hard though because after about two months of their break-up, he asked if I wanted to be his girlfriend and asked my best friend *who lied and said it was ok*....but really was hoping that I wouldn't.

Why not? If their relationship is over they are no longer together and that person is now a free man. Almost every man has an ex, why does it matter if that ex is a family member or friend?  Unless he was a bad person that did something awful I don't see why I wouldn't go out with them.
