No matter what the answer was it would not have changed whether i kept this little girl or not.  For me its just so i could be prepared if she did have DS.

I did not get it with my first, and I was blessed with a DS baby! I am getting it this time (I'm 6w6d) and go to my first appointment next Tuesday. I just want to be more prepared and make sure I can get doctors appointments and everything set up prior to baby coming and being caught off guard again.

I get it just to be prepared, they do give a lot of false positives though. But I'd rather know there's a possibility of a higher needs child so I can prepare better for him/her.

I had it done as my insurance covered it and to me there were no cons to getting it done. It was it a it finding out so I knew if I should keep the baby or not but more so for my own information so if something came back abnormal I could prepare myself and learn as much information as I can so I can give my baby all the care I can

Yes, my midwifes were over the top with everything... babies head was growing slowly so they insisted that I get one. Even though I explained to them both of my other children grew like that in utero and caught up close to the end of my pregnancy. I just went along with every test anyways. Baby is now normal and due in 8 more days. But I did tell them that I didn't want the test initally because regardless of any problem with my baby I would love him.

Done with my 1st cuse I was sent for Nuchal scan. I m pregnant with baby 2 and my 1st scan will be the Anatomy at 20w. They skipped other scans, currently 14w5d and no scan yet just blood/urine/culture/pap tests done at 1st appt with dr at 13w
