Playing god?

So I'm pretty sure there was already a topic on here about how people are developing a way for you to choose the traits and personality of your child, and a lot of people disagreed with it since it was like playing God.

We got to this topic in my Psychology class, and my teacher was all for it, and he told the class something along the lines of "If you think it's playing God, then never go on life support, don't take medicine or anything if you're against people playing God."

Do you guys agree with what he said? Or do you think there's a difference in choosing how your child will be, and taking medicine?
