Did you water break?

Yep! I was being induced and they had given me cytotec ( a pill to help dilate) I had gotten up to go to the bathroom and on my  way back I felt a little gush down my leg. I figured I just didn't get all the pee out so I went back to the toilet and tried to pee more. I got back in the hospital bed and another bigger gush came out so I called the nurse into check it and it was amniotic fluid. Really glad my water broke on it own!

Mine broke after they gave me cervadil during my induction to open up my cervix

First baby I was induced so they broke it. Babies 2-4 the water broke on its own during labor. Baby 5 she was born in the caul, which means my water didn't break until after she was born.

Mine broke at home.  Was my only sign of going into labor.  I didn't start feeling contractions until I was in the way to the hospital

Is this a trick question?  Everyone's water breaks, either naturally or with the "knitting" needle.  Or, did you mean to ask if your water broke before contractions?

Only 5% of the time does labor start with your water breaking. And even if it does break, it doesn't mean you're in labor. Ideally, you want to be in labor before your water breaks because it's a lot easier to break your water than it is to induce labor.
