In-Vitro Knowledge?

Question

Hey, Ladies. 
So, my husband and I cannot naturally conceive due to him having cancer while he was young. The radiation therapy made him sterile. 
(Thanks to God, he's been in remission for about 12/13 years now!) 
Anyway, we were talking about doing in-vitro, since some of his sperm was stored before he started treatment, but that was a long time ago & it will be a while before we are ready to have children. Though I would not complain if a miracle happened & I became pregnant now. 
Does anyone know if sperm can "go bad" after a certain amount of time? I read that it can, and just wanted to see if any ladies with knowledge of the procedure could tell me anything. If you would also like to include any other facts you feel are important, feel free.

There's always a risk when storing embryos sperm and eggs but I think there's a great chance still.  a lot of people store things that long. I know a lady that had eggs stored for 13 years and had a healthy baby first try

Frozen sperm isn't as good as fresh sperm but it still holds a lot of potential. The biggest problem with old frozen sperm is the way they froze then compared to now. Their technique has gotten a lot better but it's more of an issue with frozen embryos. I think you'll have a great chance. Frozen sperm regardless of the amount of time it's been frozen only holds a slightly lower chance for success. If I were you I would make those embryos soon then later and freeze them. The older I get the crappier my ivf results get.

I don't know much about IVF, but I remember reading about a baby that was born last year using 23 year old sperm. Same situation. Man banked before getting treated for cancer at the age of 15.  Hope that helps. Good Luck!
