Ferber method?

Any moms trying/tried/ planning to try the Ferber method? We started day 1 last night with my 3 month old since we couldn't take his witching hour and 1.5-2 HR stretches of sleep throughout the night. Love to know if it worked for you or not.

3 months is too early. You're not supposed to start any sort of sleep "training" until at least 6 months if at all. Honestly the Ferber method is just mean anyway so I would never do that or any sort of cry it out. They need their moms. This time in their development is crucial and when they form trust and love for their parents. Ignoring their cries breaks that trust. The only reason it works is because they learn to not cry because their mom won't come when they cry anyway. They literally give up. It's heartbreaking.

Also at this age they literally NEED to wake up every couple hours. Their stomachs are small and they need milk more often. It's also a defense mechanism agains SIDS. You should do some more research and do what is best for your baby, not just what's best for you and your sleep.

If you did any research on it the FIRST THING they list on the technique is that it is not meant for young babies(under 6 months). Please do some research and fully educate yourself on the technique, because at this point you are doing way more harm than good to your child..

Yes I am aware that they don't recommend it for infants under 6 months. My son cries himself to sleep even when we hold him. Each and every time he wakes. Nothing my husband and I do works. Diaper change, feeds, bouncing, swaying, rocking chair nothing! Nothing at all. And yes it was heartbreaking to see him cry it out but after 3 months of this we were desperate. He already refuses to sleep without being held during the day. It's not financially possible for me to stay at home for much longer and I really don't want to enroll him in a daycare until he can nap by himself. Do any of you have any suggestions?
