Do I need to get my rhogam shot??

So I'm 16 weeks pregnant and last night after my fiancé and I had intercourse I had some light pink spotting. It has stopped since then, but do I need to go get my rhogam shot early since I had some bleeding?

You only need it if for some reason your blood has mixed with your baby's blood.  This usually only happens if there is some sort of trauma to you're belly or there is a tear.  Otherwise you don't need it until 28 weeks.

No, it has nothing to do with you bleeding. The spotting after sex was likely because sex irritates the cervix. It's perfectly normal and poses no risk to baby unless it's bright red blood and lots. Rhogam is for when you and baby have opposite blood types, it's to prevent your blood cells from recognizing babies as a foreign cell and potentially attacking it.

I had to get mine very very early. At week 7 or 8 because I had bleeding. Mine was more than just spotting tho.  I will still have to get one at 28 weeks I was told.  Ask your doctor if you are worried. Spotting after sex is usually considered normal though

U get the shot at 28 weeks and after u have the baby u get another one if the baby has positive blood ...bleeding is normal after sex longs as there is not a bunch of blood u dont get the shot till 28 weeks no matter what though
