am I just sensitive or would this hurt your feelings?

Question

Okay, so long story short, family friend totaled car and got dui, we moved to help, she has a 13 year old son.

My boyfriend would rather spend time with him than with me. So Christmas is coming up, and we're going back to visit, we stay in an rv when we visit. And the kids brother lives around the corner from us. I told my boyfriend that I wanted it to just be me and him for Christmas since we never get time alone anymore, he told me the since it's not what the kid wants he's not going to ask him to go to his brothers. Should I have gotten upset or was I wrong?

We share a room with the 13 year old, and my 19 year old boyfriend stays up all night playing video games with this kid, and begs the kid to stay up with him, even though he has school the next day, so we litterally get NO time together.

It would probably annoy me that it's all my boyfriend wanted to do...but if he's 19 then he sounds like he's just being 19.

If he's developed a big brother relationship with a 13 y/o, I think that's kinda nice. Your boyfriend may be missing having a sibling around.

I would talk to the mom about putting limits on game time though. Staying up late on school nights isn't healthy. And talking to your BF about being a responsible adult and the best interest of a child.

You need talk to your boyfriend about what you expect in the relationship. And you have to be willing to part ways. You also can't expect your boyfriend to act like he's not 19. At this age, there's often a big gap between male and female maturity. Expecting him to be farther along in his emotional & cognitive development than physically possible will set him up for failure. That's not fair to either of you. But, you can't have a relationship without spending time together. Find a realistic middle ground together. But if he can't give it, move on.

Your boyfriend is still realy immture sounds like that's how it's gonna be with him .. but in  Honesty when you have family close by your not ever going to be alone on Christmas and it sounds like this little boy means the world to your boyfriend
