Is it fair?

Me and my husband got into a little argument because my son only has a few presents and my step son is getting a ton from everyone else. I got $35 in gift cards from my ex MIL for my son and my husband is irritated that I want to get him more presents since my ex husband and his family really has nothing to do with my son and my adopted dad I don't have anything to do with either.

Why is he upset? All kids should be treated equal weather they are your kids or not. Your husbands family should be fair to both kids not just one.

If my husband had other children and his family got his other children more than what my children got I wouldn't attend that Christmas. Children don't understand and can easily feel left out or unloved and I believe all children should be treated equally. I mean the only circumstance where I could understand is if the child was a baby, for instance we spoiled my daughter rotten as always but only bought my son (8 months) a handful of things since he has no clue what Christmas is and I had saved all the toys for his age from when my daughter was a baby

My son is 2yrs old so he doesn't think it really matters at this point in his life.
