When is it safe to tell extended family I am pregnant? I had my first ultrasound and heard heart beat I'm 12 weeks.

Honestly, it's never truly "safe." You just have to decide when you're comfortable to tell. I've known people to tell the world as early as 5 weeks, because that was when they decided. But telling that early has risks so a lot of people choose not to. 12 weeks seems like a reasonable time to tell family if it were up to me.

After 12wks, you're pretty safe... Announce whenever you feel comfortable doing it. I announced at 13 wks. 😊

I don't know if you're ever really safe, but a lot of people wait until the second trimester (so 14 weeks) to announce

I called my mom and sister as soon as I find out because I felt overwhelmed and needed someone to talk to. I probably won't tell friends and other family until about 16 weeks though.
